Our Herd

At New Heights, all of our horses are leased to us.

We are so thankful for the generous owners who have provided their companions for our riders’ therapy!

Buckwheat

Buckwheat

Gelding, born in 2007
Breed: Paso Fino

About the Breed: Name meaning “fine step”, naturally gaited light horse breed dating back to the horses imported from the Caribbean from Spain on Christopher Columbus’s second voyage to the Americans in 1493.

Buckwheat may be our smallest horse, but he is definitely one of our feistiest! He is our younger riders' favorite horse due to the way he walks makes them think that they are going faster than they actually are!
